At the request of students and parents, we will resume Footwork Fridays starting next Friday, September 10. Buses passing through downtown between 7:30 and 7:50 a.m. will make a stop at P&M Market, where parent volunteers and PES faculty will meet them for a brisk walk to school. Parents of students in grades 4, 5, and 6 received a brochure from the Pittsfield Community Coalition last Friday. Although the brochure is designed for parents of teenagers, we felt that parents of preteens should be aware of this community effort. Children, after all, seem to be growing up fast these days.
The Safe Homes Initiative is a pledge-based commitment that parents sign agreeing to actively supervise youth gatherings at their home and not serve alcohol to youth or provide youth with access to alcohol.
