School District Elementary School Middle High School Staff Only

Strong Community = Strong Schools

The Pittsfield School District is welcoming in the New Year with both reflection and action and would like to share the updates about the on-going progress. You are invited to a Good-to-Great Community Forum scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9th from 10:00-12:00 in the Pittsfield Middle High School Media Center. Refreshments will be provided. We will be presenting: Where we are with regard to student centered learning and achievement at the start of our journey, how we have been reshaping our systems and structures to better serve our young people, the progress we have made since implementing student centered learning practices, and the role of the community in that progress. We will be discussing: The work that is in front of us, opportunities for the community to support student progress. Participants will collaborate with other participants to identify mechanisms that facilitate the continued success and implementation of our student centered learning practices. As a reminder, our efforts are driven and guided by our District Values and Guiding Principles, which will be available at the forum and soon to be available online. We are also guided by the Nellie Mae Education Foundation Principles. These principles were derived from extensive research into what leads to a high level of student achievement. You will see that the District Values and Principles are directly aligned with those practices that lead to success for every student. It is our hope that you can make this meeting. Your assistance and participation is essential to making Pittsfield a Center of educational excellence and to prepare all students (PreK-12) for career and college readiness. Please contact Tobi Chassie at tchassie@pittsfieldnhschools.org, 435-6701 or Susan Bradley, sebradley1@comcast.net, 494-1015 with any questions
