The Pittsfield Players will conduct auditions for the comedy “Dearly Beloved” Sunday, January 25 at 7 p.m. and again Monday, January 26 at 7 p.m. at the Scenic Theatre, 6 Depot Street, Pittsfield. Auditioners will be asked to read from the script. The show will run two weekends -- March 20, 21, 22, and March 27 and 28. The cast calls for 4 men (ages 20-65) and 7 women (ages 20-65). One female cast member doubles in the roles of identical twin sisters. For more information, contact Mike Hobson at 724-9060.

The filing period for Elected Town and School positions will be from January 21, 2015 – January 30, 2015 at the Town Clerk’s office at the Town Hall during regular business hours, each day except January 30th, when we will be accepting applications until 5:00PM. Candidate filing forms will also be available for downloading on the Town website during the filing period.

If voters would like to receive an absentee ballot, absentee ballot applications for both the Town and School Elections are available at the Town Hall and may be downloaded from the Town website. Absentee ballots will be mailed as soon as they are available

The PHS Alumni Association will meet on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 6:30pm at PMHS. All alumni are welcome to attend.

The Pittsfield Youth Workshop will hold Drop In hours from 3-6pm each day this week. Please call 435-8272 for more information.

The Budget Committee will meet on Wed, Jan. 28 at 6pm at the Town Hall.

The Suncook Valley Area Lions Club is having a fundraiser for Lions Camp Pride but are not asking for money, they want your shoes. Yes, gently used shoes which will be sent to the Rerun Program (a non-profit) that runs a center for disabled adults. The workers refurbish the shoes and then they are sent out to Africa for distribution. Lions Camp Pride will be paid for every pair of shoes that we collect. Men's Shoes • Women's Shoes • Athletics • Kid's Shoes • Sandals • Athletic Cleats, please, no flip flops, crocs, high heels or winter boots. In the month of February the Lions will have collection containers at The First Congregational Church, Globe, Jitters Café and Stars & Stripes Auctions, LLC. Lions Camp Pride, located at Merry-meeting Lake in New Durham, NH is a fully handicapped accessible facility built and operated by the 42 Lions Clubs of eastern New Hampshire. Bring us your shoes and help support a fun filled summer vacation for a child with disabilities.

Come to the Pittsfield Area Senior Center on Fri, Jan. 30 for a Chili & Mac/Cheese Cookoff. Enjoy a sampling of chili and mac & cheese dishes and then you will cast your and a prize will be given for the best dishes. If you would like to enter a dish, please call the Center at 435-8482.

On Saturday, January 31st, 9am-12noon at the town Hall the Economic Development Committee will be sponsoring another All Board/Committee Forum. Refreshments will be provided. The topic for discussion is Route 28 (its limitations, challenges and economic development potential). Poker Run Fundraising Event
