The Suncook Valley Area Lions Club will meet on Monday, May 18 at 6pm at Jitters Café, Main Street.
The South Pittsfield Community Club will hold a Ham & Bean Dinner at the Club House on Dowboro Road on Sat, May 23 from 5-6:30pm.  The cost is for Adults- $8, for Children (ages 6-12)- $4 and under 6 is free.
The Suncook Valley Rotary Club will meet on Wed, May 20 at 6pm at the Community Center, lower level.  For more information, contact Donna Keeley at
PMHS Drama Club presents "Wizard of Oz" on May 29, 30 at 7pm and May 31 at 2pm.  Tickets are on sale and the cost is $8 and after May 10 they will be $10.  Contact Mrs Banks at or Mr. Shawver at

Join Botanist George Newman for a Native Plants Garden Tour at Graylag of the wildflowers and other native plants at Graylag - a peaceful woodland preserve on the shore of Wild Goose Pond on Wed, May 27 at 1pm at Graylag, 320 Clough Rd in Pittsfield.  In case of heavy rain, this event will be rescheduled to Thursday, May 28 at 1pm.  To register, please contact Amanda at 867-4433 or

It's time to send in your nominations for Pittsfield's Citizen of the Year.  Please send in your nominee and the reasons you feel the person should be our Citizen of the Year to: Citizen of Year, PO Box 173, Pittsfield. Deadline is June 3.

The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Multi-Town Yard Sale (All chamber member towns) on Sat/Sun, June 6 and 7 from 8-2pm.  Participants can sign up for one day or both.  Registration forms are available at  Individuals - $5 and Groups- $10.  The deadline for registering is MAY 24.

The Suncook Valley Area Lions Club (serving Pittsfield and Barnstead) is requesting your gently used donations for the Multi Town yard sale on June 6 and 7. We cannot accept televisions or clothing, but please clean out your closets and garages and call 435-5052 to arrange for a pick up.

 Save the date, Friday, June 5 for the Pittsfield Youth Workshop Fiddle Contest at the Pittsfield Middle High School gym.  From 5:30-9pm - Silent Auction and at 6:30pm - Fiddle Contest (Youth Division to begin followed by the Open Div).  For more information, contact Zach or Paula at 435-8272 or info@pittsfieldyouthworkshop.

The Infant Toddler Diaper Pantry will be open on Tuesday, May 19 from 9-11am at the First Congregational Church, 24 Main Street.  Young families are given supplemental diapers and wipes.  Everyone is welcome.  Please use the Chestnut Street entrance.

The Josiah Carpenter Library Board of Trustees will meet on Tuesday, May 19 at 7pm at the library.  The meeting is open to the public.

On Thursday, May 21, the library is sponsoring- Michele Albion presenting "The Quotable Eleanor Roosevelt" at 7pm at the Pittsfield Middle High School Auditorium.

On Tuesday, May 19 at the Senior Center at 10:30am - Live Music Performance by Pancake Hill, an acoustic light rock and easy listening duo.  Come and enjoy the show and stay for lunch.  Call 435-8482 to make your lunch reservation.
